曾几何时,美国号称拥有世界上最好的公立教育系统,但在过去的三十多年里,虽然政客们不断强调要改善弊端丛生的教育系统,可是孩子们的教育情况始终没有任何改观,反而呈现令人担忧的前景。这些出生在普通家庭的孩子,多在阅读和数学方面存在着巨大的障碍,且平均水平大大低于地球上其他发达国家。甚至有的高中成为了臭名昭著的辍学工厂,无数少年过早进入社会,国家在一名囚徒身上的花费…
