TheideaofthisshowisthatitchallengesthebottomlineoftheperceptiontoAsianAmerican–likeitstitleortheauthoroforiginalbook.Ifablackmanorawhitemanmadethisshow,heiscertainlygoingtobegettingbeatenupandmurdered.Thatsthebeautyofsuchproduction–itisonthebottomlineofextremeoffensiveness–whichmakesitpoliticallycorrectwhentheshowalsomakesfunofwhiteandblackAmerican.Thecreativefreedomthereforeallowstheshowtotapintomanyraceissuespeopledontgenerallytalkaboutbecausetheyareafraidofbacklashes.Forexample,theblackkidwasbullyingandshowingdisrespecttothenewlyarrivedChineseAsiankids.Thisisquitecommonacrossthenation,butpeopledontnormallywanttoputitonthespotlightbecauseoftheoppressionblackAmericanpostonotherminorities–whilemostwhiteAmericanareashamedofracism,manyblackAmericanfinditenjoyabletopracticeracismagainstotherminorities–andtheydenytheirbehaviorsasracism,andwouldevenclaimthecriticsasracists.Tocertainblacksupremacists,allnon-blackracesareracist-thereforeallnon-blackracesaresubjectedtooppressionpostedbyblacksupremacists.ThisiswhysofewtelevisionprogramshadbeenmadetodepictminorityfamiliesotherthanblackfamiliesintheUS.ThisTVshowisanexcellentstatementtotheseblacksupremacists,andaharshslapontheirracistfaces.
