ButhowIlovethen,itsnothingcomparedtohowIloveyounow.Now,Iloveyouwitheverythinginsideofme….Iloveyousomuch;Ijustwantyoutobehappy,evenifthathappinessnolongerincludesme.Fromthatdayon,formeandRuth,itwasn’texactlyhappilyeverafter,butitwasprettyclose.Wefocusedoncelebratingallthewonderfulthingswehad,ratherthanregrettingthethingswedidn’t.everyanniversary,wewoulddrivetoBlackMountain.IstillwroteRuthletters,eventhoughIsawhereveryday.Somanywonderfulyears,but,ofcourse,notnearlyenough.ThepaintingsRuthandIhadcollectedonlyservedasareminderofwhatIhadlost.SoIpackedthemaway.Iamanordinarymanwhofellinlovewithanextraordinarywoman.Aroundthisroomyouwillseesomebeautifulandpricelessworksofart.Ruthhadanincredibleeyesfortalent,whileIonlyhadeyesforher.Forme,thegreatjoyofcollectingwasn’tintheartitself,butinthepersonIcollecteditwith,mylovedRuth.Thehappinessthesepaintingsbroughtherwasimmeasurable,andsharingthathappinesswasthegreatprivilegeofmylife.Wecelebrated,weachieved,weendured,wecomprised,andaboveall,weloved.ThetrueworkofartwasthelongestrideRuthandIshared.Thisthingcalledlife.
